Barnetby station and Hazel Grove

I'm not crazy about trains, it's just that it's the only time I remember I'm supposed to be an artist. Learning how to use a fancy Pentel Brush Pen (£15 worth) so these are a bit all over the place. If I wrote a pen review would anyone be interested?

Lost Shoe 3

Received through the post the other morning, a still warm copy of 'Lost Shoe' number 3, by my good friend Mr Alex Potts. Having sat opposite him in art at school I always knew he was dead good, and so always look forward to the next issue of LS.
Lively and animated, Alex's characters (including Henry Martini and the one based on someone's dad) seem to move even when stood still. I think this is why he is employed making cartoons during the day. Quality presentation of silkscreened covers is always to be expected, and in this case a most pleasing landscape format makes Alex's excellent publication Comic of the Month or So.

Available in Gosh (London), and on Alex's site www.lostshoe.co.uk

Saturday Kids Club roughs

A couple of sketch designs for the flyer to advertise Manchester Art Galleries new kids art club. The kittens with the remote control car have taped felt tips to it, converting it into a drawing machine. Finished design to follow soon.

Disaster!

Got back home from a weekend away to find my bookshelves had given up. I'm putting it down to a combination of
1) tightly packed Beano, Dennis the Menace, Bash St Kids, Beryl the Peril, Dandy, Beezer, Topper, Sparky, Black Bob, Cor!!, Krazy, Smash!, Wham!, Whizzer and Chips, Shiver and Shake, Knockout and Bobby Bear annuals
2) an unfounded confidence in my DIY skills
3) 2.4 Richter scale earthquakes in the Manchester area (even though I'm 15 miles away)
